Termite & Mosquito Control in St. Johns County, FL

Pest control technician providing termite and mosquito control services at a home in St. Johns County, Florida

Living in St. Johns County means enjoying warm weather, beautiful neighborhoods and plenty of outdoor activities. Unfortunately, Northeast Florida’s heat, moisture and seasonal rainfall also create favorable conditions for termites and mosquitoes. Professional termite and mosquito control can help protect your property while making outdoor spaces more comfortable for your family and guests.

Homes throughout St. Johns, Julington Creek, Fruit Cove, Switzerland, Nocatee, Durbin Crossing, Ponte Vedra and World Golf Village may experience termite activity. Because termites often work behind walls, beneath flooring or near foundations, an infestation can remain unnoticed. Warning signs may include discarded wings, mud tubes, damaged wood, bubbling paint or wood that sounds hollow when tapped.

A professional termite inspection can identify visible evidence of activity, conducive conditions and potential entry points. Based on the findings, an appropriate termite-control plan can be recommended for the property. Regular inspections are especially worth considering for homes with moisture problems, wood-to-soil contact, older construction or previous termite activity.

Mosquitoes are another familiar concern for residents near the St. Johns River, Julington Creek and the county’s ponds, wetlands and wooded areas. They commonly rest in shaded vegetation and reproduce in standing water. Gutters, planters, birdbaths, toys, buckets and drainage areas can all hold enough water to support mosquito development.

Reducing standing water and maintaining landscaping can help, but professional mosquito control provides another layer of protection. Treatments can target shrubs, shaded foliage and other areas where mosquitoes frequently rest. Because weather, vegetation and property conditions differ, mosquito service should be tailored to each yard rather than approached as a one-size-fits-all treatment.

From neighborhoods near Veterans Park and Alpine Groves Park to communities around Creekside High School, Bartram Trail High School and the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce area, St. Johns Pest Control provides local pest-control solutions based on each property’s needs. The county’s parks and waterways are part of what makes the area special, but the surrounding moisture and vegetation also make ongoing pest awareness important. St. Johns County Parks and Recreation maintains local parks and waterway access, while Alpine Groves Park sits along the St. Johns River.

If you have noticed possible termite activity or mosquitoes are interfering with your time outdoors, contact St. Johns Pest Control to discuss an inspection and treatment options for your St. Johns County property.

Termites, Your Home, and Regular Maintenance.

A few days ago while doing an inspection on a home in Nocatee for a new customer, they asked if I would mind inspecting the stations that were surrounding the home they had just purchased. The structure had gone though all the prerequisite inspections prior to the sale, and they were under the impression that the stations arounds the home were protecting them from termites.  After the inspection and the Pest Control service they had requested, I started to inspect the In-ground Bait Stations that were present.
